What If My Insurance Company Does Not Offer a Discount After I Complete the Tennessee Driver Education Course (Traffic School)?
Insurance discounts for completing a driver education course are not guaranteed — they are offered at the insurer's discretion, vary by provider and policy, and are not required by Tennessee law. If your insurer does not offer a discount, Driving Logic cannot compel them to do so and cannot guarantee a refund solely because the discount was not available.
This is why we recommend confirming with your insurer before enrolling if your primary reason for taking the course is an insurance discount.
If You Confirmed Eligibility Before Enrolling
If you contacted your insurer before enrolling, they confirmed a discount was available, you completed the course, and they are now refusing to honor it — this is a dispute between you and your insurer. Steps to take:
Contact your insurer again and reference the conversation where the discount was confirmed.
Ask to speak with a supervisor or your agent directly.
Submit your certificate in writing and request written confirmation of the discount.
If the dispute is not resolved, you can file a complaint with the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance.
Driving Logic can provide documentation of your course completion if needed.
If You Did Not Confirm Before Enrolling
If you enrolled without first confirming your insurer offers a discount and they do not:
The course has still been completed and the certificate issued — it is valid and may be used for other purposes (ticket dismissal or point reduction if applicable).
A refund is not available once your certificate has been issued.
Driving Logic cannot be responsible for insurer eligibility that was not confirmed before purchase.
Refund Policy for Voluntary Enrollments
Driving Logic's standard refund policy applies regardless of the reason for enrollment: full refund within 30 days of purchase, provided your certificate has not been issued. If you enrolled voluntarily, completed the course, received your certificate, and then found out your insurer does not offer a discount — the refund window has closed because the certificate was issued.
If you enrolled voluntarily and have not yet completed the course, you may be eligible for a refund within the 30-day window. Contact us.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if my insurer accepted the course before but now says they don't? Insurance discount policies can change. Contact your insurer to ask why the discount no longer applies and whether there is any exception. If you enrolled based on a prior confirmation that is no longer honored, document everything and escalate within your insurer's customer service structure.
My policy renewed and the discount disappeared. What do I do? Some insurers apply the discount only for a specific period after completion. Contact your insurer to ask whether the discount is renewable and what their renewal process requires.
Can I take the course again to get a new certificate for a fresh discount application? Taking the course again would require a new enrollment and payment. Whether a new completion qualifies for another discount depends entirely on your insurer's policy. Confirm with them before re-enrolling.
Is there any way to know which insurers definitely offer the discount? Driving Logic does not maintain a list of participating insurers. The best way to confirm is to call your insurance provider directly before enrolling.
