Plan Ahead for Your Court Deadline
Do not wait until the last minute to complete the course. After finishing, you still need to:
Receive your DS-230 certificate (arrives shortly after completion)
Order a certified Type 3A driving record from Texas DPS
Submit both documents to your court by the deadline
The Type 3A driving record from DPS is available immediately if ordered online, but allow yourself several days before your court deadline to gather and submit everything comfortably.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I submit my certificate to the court the same day I finish? Yes. You can submit your DS-230 certificate as soon as you receive it. Just make sure you also have your certified Type 3A driving record from DPS, which you can order and print online immediately.
Why does it take up to 15 days to appear in the TDLR system? Driving Logic typically reports within 1 business day, but TDLR's validation system may take additional time to reflect the update. Your certificate is valid from the moment it is issued regardless of when it appears in the lookup.
Will my court verify my certificate through TDLR? Courts can verify DS-230 certificates through the TDLR validation system. If you are submitting close to a deadline, let the court know your certificate is valid and that verification may take up to 15 days from your completion date.
What is a Type 3A driving record and how do I get one? A Type 3A is a certified copy of your Texas driving record, required by courts for ticket dismissal. Order it online from the Texas DPS website — you can print it immediately after purchase.
What if I need my certificate resent? Contact Driving Logic support and we can resend it to the email address on your account at no charge.
