How Do I Check My Indiana Driving Record?
You can check your Indiana driving record through the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) at in.gov/bmv.
What Your Driving Record Shows
Your Indiana driving record includes:
Your current point total
Traffic violations and convictions
License suspensions or restrictions
Course completions, including any Driver Safety Program credits applied
Points stay active on your record for two years from the conviction date and then drop off automatically.
How to Request Your Record
The Indiana BMV offers driving record requests online, by mail, and in person at a BMV branch. The online option is the fastest.
Visit in.gov/bmv and look for the driving record request option. You will need your driver's license number and personal information to verify your identity.
There is a fee to obtain your official driving record. The BMV website lists current fees at the time of your request.
For the full schedule of point values assigned to each type of traffic violation, the BMV publishes its point value table at 140 IAC 1-4.5-10.
When to Check Your Record After Completing the Course
Driving Logic is required to transmit completed online Indiana DSP courses to the BMV within 24 hours, except on observed holidays or days the school is closed for business.
Submission and the BMV updating your driving record are separate steps. A certificate does not confirm that your individual report was submitted or processed. If your BMV record does not show your completion, contact support through the chat on your course site. Tell us when you completed the course, what the BMV record or notice says, and whether you have an approaching deadline. You do not need to wait through another standard processing period before asking us to check.
