What Happens After I Finish the Tennessee Driver Education Course (Traffic School)?

After you pass the final exam and complete all course requirements, Driving Logic automatically emails your completion certificate as a PDF attachment within 5 minutes. What you do next depends on why you took the course.

If You Took the Course for Ticket Dismissal

Submit your certificate to the court that gave you permission to take the course. Ask your court whether to mail, fax, or hand-deliver the certificate. The court determines whether your completion satisfies its requirements.

If You Took the Course for Point Reduction

For eligible speeding-point removal, complete the approved four-hour course within 90 days of the speeding conviction. Follow the instructions in your Department notice and ask support to check the provider’s completion-submission record. Course completion, provider submission and the points adjustment appearing on your record are separate events.

Tennessee DSHS Financial Responsibility Division P.O. Box 945 Nashville, TN 37202-0945

The Department determines eligibility and the actual points adjustment; confirm the result on your record.

If You Took the Course Voluntarily for an Insurance Discount

Submit your certificate directly to your insurance provider. Your insurer will determine whether a discount applies and when it takes effect.

Does Driving Logic Submit My Completion to Anyone?

Provider submission to the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security and any proof you must provide to a court or insurer are separate responsibilities. Follow your court, insurer and Department notice instructions. Ask support for your actual provider-submission status; do not assume that receiving a certificate proves reporting or acceptance.
