Are Quizzes Required in the New Jersey Defensive Driving Course (DDC)
Yes. The course includes 6 quizzes — one at the end of each module. You must pass each quiz before the next module unlocks. You cannot skip quizzes or take the final exam until all 6 have been passed.
How Quizzes Work
Each quiz has 20 questions. You need a score of 80% or higher — 16 correct out of 20 — to pass. If you do not pass, you can retake the quiz immediately at no additional charge. There is no limit on retakes. Your progress through the course is paused until you pass the quiz for the current module.
Quizzes vs. the Final Exam
Module quizzes and the final exam are separate assessments. Quiz questions cover only the material from that module. The final exam draws 40 questions randomly from a 120-question bank covering the full course. Passing all 6 module quizzes is required before the final exam becomes available.
