Getting answers wrong on a unit quiz in the Florida Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) Course does not prevent you from advancing. Unit quizzes do not have a minimum passing score — any result allows you to move on to the next lesson once the quiz is submitted.

The 4 unit quizzes in the DETS Course are designed to reinforce the material you just completed, not to gate your progress based on performance. Submitting the quiz — regardless of your score — is what unlocks the next lesson.

After completing a quiz, you can review your results to see which questions you answered incorrectly. Reviewing incorrect answers is useful preparation for the final exam, which draws from the same 500-question bank.

While quiz scores do not affect your ability to advance, the final exam does have a required passing score of 80%. Questions from unit quizzes can appear on the final exam because both draw from the same 500-question bank. If you are missing questions on quizzes, go back and review the relevant lesson content before taking the final exam.

What if I fail every question on a unit quiz? You can still advance to the next lesson. Unit quizzes have no minimum score requirement.

Should I worry about low quiz scores? Quiz scores do not affect your certificate or your ability to complete the course. However, the final exam draws from the same question bank, so reviewing missed questions is good preparation.

Can I retake a quiz after reviewing my wrong answers? Yes. Quizzes can be retaken as many times as you like at no additional charge.

Do wrong quiz answers get reported to FLHSMV? No. FLHSMV only receives your course completion record, not individual quiz results.

What if I do not understand the material after a quiz? Go back and review the lesson content for that topic. The course allows you to revisit any completed lesson at any time.
