Can You Skip Ahead in the Missouri Driver Improvement Program (DIP)?

The course is sequential — each lesson must be completed and its quiz passed before the next lesson becomes available. You cannot jump to a later lesson before finishing the earlier ones.

Why Is the Course Sequential?

The course is structured so that each lesson builds on the previous one. You must complete the lesson content and pass the quiz with 80% or higher before the next lesson unlocks. This applies through all 6 lessons.

How Does the Course Progress?

The course moves in order from Lesson 1 through Lesson 6:

  1. Complete the lesson content.

  2. Pass the lesson quiz with 80% or higher.

  3. The next lesson unlocks automatically.

You cannot access a later lesson until the preceding lesson and quiz are complete.

Is the course self-paced even though I cannot skip ahead? Yes. The course is self-paced — you work through each lesson at your own speed. The sequential structure means you complete lessons in order, but there is no timer or minimum time requirement on any individual section.

Can I take the quizzes before reading the lesson content? No. Each quiz becomes available only after the lesson content is completed. The course must be taken in sequence.

What if I accidentally close a lesson before it finishes? Your progress is saved to the last completed section. When you return, you will resume from where you left off. Any sections you have fully completed will not need to be repeated.
