What Happens After I Finish the Tennessee Driver Education Course (Traffic School)?
After you pass the final exam and complete all course requirements, Driving Logic automatically emails your completion certificate as a PDF attachment immediately. What you do next depends on why you took the course.
If You Took the Course for Ticket Dismissal
Submit your certificate to the court that gave you permission to take the course. Ask your court whether to mail, fax, or hand-deliver the certificate. Your court will then dismiss the traffic violation from your record.
If You Took the Course for Point Reduction
Submit your certificate to the Tennessee DSHS within 90 days of your conviction date. You can submit via TN e-Services online, fax, or mail to the Financial Responsibility Division.
Tennessee DSHS Financial Responsibility Division P.O. Box 945 Nashville, TN 37202-0945
The DSHS will process your submission and remove up to 5 points from your driving record for the qualifying speeding conviction.
If You Took the Course Voluntarily for an Insurance Discount
Submit your certificate directly to your insurance provider. Your insurer will determine whether a discount applies and when it takes effect.
Does Driving Logic Submit My Completion to Anyone?
No. Driving Logic emails your certificate to you. You are responsible for submitting it to the appropriate party — your court, the Tennessee DSHS, or your insurer.
