Is a Final Exam Required in the New Jersey Defensive Driving Course (DDC)
Yes. You must pass a final exam to complete the New Jersey Defensive Driving Course. The exam has 40 questions drawn randomly from a 120-question bank. You need a score of 80% or higher to pass. You have up to 3 total attempts.
How the Final Exam Works
The final exam is not open book — you must answer from memory. There is no time limit. After each failed attempt, you can review the correct answers before retaking. Questions are drawn randomly from the bank, so each attempt will include different questions.
The final exam becomes available only after you have passed all 6 module quizzes and completed all course content.
After You Pass
Once you score 80% or higher on the final exam, your completion certificate is emailed to you automatically. Driving Logic then submits your completion record to the New Jersey MVC within 10 business days.
