What Happens If You Don't Finish the Arizona Defensive Driving Course (DDC)

If you do not complete the Arizona Defensive Driving Course at least 7 days before your court appearance date, your citation will not be diverted. Driving Logic will not report a completion and the court will process your case without a dismissal — meaning the violation may be entered on your MVD record and you may be required to pay the fine.

The 7-Day Rule Is a Hard Deadline

Unlike other courses with open-ended access, the Arizona Defensive Driving Course has a firm court-imposed deadline. You must complete the course at least 7 calendar days before your arraignment date. Missing this deadline cannot be corrected by Driving Logic — it is set by the Arizona Supreme Court and enforced by the court of jurisdiction.

If You Are Running Out of Time

If you realize you may not finish before the 7-day deadline, contact your court immediately to request an extension. Many Arizona courts can grant extensions by phone. If granted, your new court date becomes your new deadline. Update your enrollment information with the new date and complete the course before the revised deadline.

120-Day Access Window

In addition to the 7-day court deadline, your course access expires 120 days after enrollment. In most cases the court deadline comes first, but if both are at risk, let us know and we can help.

No Certificate Without Completing All Requirements

Your certificate is issued only after you complete all 8 lessons, all participation prompts, all segment questions correctly, all identity validation requirements, and the full 4-hour instructional time. An incomplete course does not generate a completion record or a certificate.
