For point reduction, you must complete the course and submit your certificate to the Tennessee DSHS within 90 days of your conviction date. This deadline is set by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security.

The 90-day clock starts on your conviction date. The window must cover the entire process:

Enroll and start the course as soon as possible after receiving your DSHS eligibility letter to ensure you have enough time.

You are responsible for tracking your 90-day deadline. Driving Logic captures your enrollment date but does not monitor or enforce state deadlines on your behalf.

If you do not complete the course and submit your certificate within 90 days of your conviction date, the point reduction benefit will not apply. Contact the Tennessee DSHS directly if you have concerns about your deadline.

When does the 90 days start — from my violation date or conviction date? The 90-day window starts from your conviction date — the date the court entered your conviction, not the date of the violation itself. Check your court paperwork for the exact conviction date.

Can the DSHS extend the deadline? Contact the Tennessee DSHS directly if you need more time. Driving Logic cannot extend state deadlines.

If I enroll today and there are only 10 days left, can I complete the course in time? The course is 4 hours long. You can complete it in a single session. Once you pass the final exam, your certificate is emailed immediately. If you have 10 days, you have enough time to complete the course — but you also need time to submit to the DSHS before the deadline.
