What If I Enrolled in the Wrong Texas Adult Driver Education Course (ADE)

If you enrolled in the wrong course, contact Driving Logic support as soon as possible — before completing the course. The sooner you reach out, the more options are available.

Common Wrong-Enrollment Situations

Enrolled in the Driving Safety Course instead of the Adult Driver Education Course These are two different programs. The Driving Safety Course (defensive driving) is for licensed drivers seeking ticket dismissal or an insurance discount. The Adult Driver Education Course is for first-time license applicants. A DS-230 certificate will not satisfy the driver education requirement at the DPS. Contact us right away to resolve the enrollment.

Enrolled in a course for the wrong state If you received a Texas citation or need a Texas license but enrolled in a course for another state, the certificate will not be accepted by the Texas DPS. Contact us immediately.

Enrolled under a wrong name or email Your ADE-1317 certificate is issued in the name you registered with. If it does not match your government-issued ID, the DPS will not accept it. Contact us before the certificate is issued so we can correct your name.

Enrolled in the Teen Driver Education course instead of the Adult course The teen course (DE-964) and the adult course (ADE-1317) are different programs with different certificates. The DE-964 certificate does not substitute for the ADE-1317. Contact us to correct the enrollment.
