What Is the Passing Score for the Texas DPS Exam
You must answer at least 21 of 30 questions correctly to pass the Texas DPS Highway Sign and Traffic Law Examination. That is a 70% passing score. This is the state-required standard for all Texas driver license applicants.
What Happens When You Pass
Once you answer 21 or more questions correctly, the exam is complete and you have passed. Your ADE-1317 certificate is generated automatically and emailed to you. You do not need to take the written test again at the DPS driver license office.
What Happens If You Do Not Pass
If you score below 70%, you do not pass the exam on that attempt. You can review the content and retake the exam. See the exam failure article for full details on the retake process.
