How Long Does It Take for the Indiana BMV to Process My Course Completion?
After you complete the Indiana Driver Safety Program course, the Indiana BMV typically takes 7 to 10 business days to process your completion and update your driving record.
What Happens After You Finish the Course?
There are two steps between finishing the course and seeing the update on your driving record:
Step 1: Driving Logic reports your completion to the BMV Driving Logic submits your completion to the Indiana BMV within 24 hours of you finishing the course.
Step 2: The BMV processes your completion After receiving the report, the Indiana BMV takes 7 to 10 business days to process the completion and apply the 4-point credit to your driving record.
When Should You Check Your Driving Record?
Wait the full 7 to 10 business days after you finish the course before checking your driving record. Checking sooner may show your record before the BMV has finished processing.
Business days do not include weekends or public holidays. Allow extra time if you completed the course near a weekend or holiday.
Does This Affect Your BMV Deadline?
If the Indiana BMV required you to complete the course, your deadline is the date by which you must finish the course — not the date by which the BMV must process it.
As long as you complete the course before your 90-day deadline, you have met the requirement even if the BMV has not yet updated your record.
