Can You Skip Ahead in the Florida Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) Course

No. You cannot skip ahead in the Florida Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) Course. Lessons must be completed in sequence and each section is timed to enforce the state-required 6-hour minimum instructional time.

Why You Cannot Skip Ahead

Florida law requires that approved DETS programs include a minimum of 6 hours of instructional content. To enforce this, the course locks future lessons until you complete the current one, and each section must be viewed for its required minimum time before you can advance.

Sequential Course Structure

The course is organized into 4 lessons. You must complete Lesson 1 before Lesson 2 becomes available, and so on. Within each lesson, topics must be completed in order. The unit quiz at the end of each lesson must also be completed before the next lesson unlocks.

Can You Review Completed Lessons

Yes. You can go back and review any lesson you have already completed at any time. Only forward skipping is restricted.
