What If I Enrolled in the Wrong Florida Driver Education Traffic Safety Course

If you enrolled in the wrong course, let us know as soon as possible and we can help. The sooner you contact us, the more options we have. If you have not completed the course, we can cancel your enrollment and help you get into the right one.

Common Enrollment Mistakes

The most frequent enrollment mix-ups for Florida courses are:

  • Enrolling in the Florida DETS Course when you need the TLSAE Course (or vice versa). DETS is for first-time drivers under 18. TLSAE is for first-time drivers 18 and older.

  • Enrolling in the Florida BDI Course (for licensed drivers with citations) instead of the DETS Course

  • A parent enrolling on behalf of a teen but selecting the wrong course

What to Do

Contact Driving Logic as soon as you realize the error. Let us know and we can help — include your account email address, the course you enrolled in, and the course you believe you need. If your certificate has not been issued and you are within the refund window, we can cancel your enrollment and process a refund or switch you to the correct course.

If You Already Completed the Wrong Course

If you have already completed the course and received a certificate, the enrollment cannot be changed. A DETS certificate can only be used to satisfy the DETS requirement — it cannot substitute for TLSAE or BDI. You would need to enroll in the correct course separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am 18 and accidentally enrolled in the DETS Course — what should I do? Contact Driving Logic as soon as possible. If you have not completed the course and are within the 30-day refund window, we can cancel your enrollment and help you enroll in the TLSAE Course instead.

My teen enrolled themselves in the wrong course — what do we do? Let us know and we can help. Contact us with your account email and the details of what happened.

Can I transfer my progress from the wrong course to the correct one? No. Course progress is not transferable. If you re-enroll in the correct course, you start from the beginning.

What if I completed the wrong course and want credit toward the right one? Completion of the wrong course does not satisfy requirements for a different course. You will need to complete the correct course in full.
