What Happens After You Complete the Arizona Defensive Driving Course (DDC)

After you complete the Arizona Defensive Driving Course, two things happen automatically: your completion certificate is emailed to you, and Driving Logic submits your completion record to the Arizona statewide defensive driving database within 1 business day. This notifies your court that the course is complete and triggers the dismissal process for your citation.

Your Completion Certificate

Your certificate is emailed to the address you used at enrollment. Delivery is automatic — you do not need to request it. If it does not appear in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder. If you still cannot find it, let us know and we can help.

Your certificate is a PDF. It includes your name, completion date, court of jurisdiction, and citation information. It is issued in English. Save a copy for your records.

Reporting to the Arizona Court Database

Driving Logic submits your completion record to the Arizona statewide defensive driving database within 1 business day of your course completion. The database notifies the court of jurisdiction. You do not need to submit anything to the court yourself.

Citation Dismissal

Once the court receives your completion record, your citation is processed for dismissal. Courts do not send dismissal notifications to students or course providers. If you want to confirm your citation was dismissed, call your court directly approximately 2 weeks after completing the course.

You Do Not Need to Appear at Your Arraignment

Once you have successfully completed the course and your completion has been reported to the court, you do not need to appear at your court date. The citation diversion process handles this for you. However, if you have any concerns about your specific case, contact your court directly.
