Can I Take the Missouri Driver Improvement Program (DIP) Without a Court Order?

No. The Missouri Driver Improvement Program is available only to drivers who have been ordered by a court to complete it. You cannot enroll voluntarily without a court order.

Why Is a Court Order Required?

The Missouri Driver Improvement Program is authorized under Missouri Revised Statutes §302.302 as a court-ordered diversion program. The point prevention benefit only applies when a court verifies your completion and submits Form 4444 to the Missouri Department of Revenue. Without a court order, there is no mechanism for the DOR to stay the assessment of points.
