Yes. There is a short quiz at the end of each of the 5 lessons. Each quiz has 4 multiple-choice questions. You must answer at least 3 of 4 correctly to advance to the next lesson. There is no separate final exam — the lesson quizzes are the only assessments in the course.

After completing each lesson's content, a 4-question multiple-choice quiz appears. The questions are based on the material you just covered in that lesson. You must pass the quiz before the next lesson unlocks.

If you do not pass on your first attempt, you can retake the quiz immediately. There is no limit on retake attempts and no penalty for retaking. Most students pass on their first try.

The Texas Driving Safety Course has no final exam. Once you complete all 5 lesson quizzes, the course is done and your certificate is issued. The lesson quizzes fulfill the state assessment requirement.

What happens if I get only 2 of 4 correct? You do not pass and the next lesson does not unlock. You can retake the quiz immediately. There is no limit on attempts.

Are the quiz questions always the same? Questions may vary between attempts. The course draws from a question bank for each lesson, so retakes may present different questions covering the same material.

Can I review the lesson content before retaking a quiz? Yes. If you do not pass a quiz, you can go back and review the lesson content before attempting the quiz again.

Are quizzes timed? No. You can take as long as you need to answer each quiz question.

Do quiz results appear on my certificate? No. Your DS-230 certificate confirms course completion but does not include individual quiz scores.
