What Happens If I Do Not Finish the Texas Driving Safety Course (DSC)
If you do not finish the course, your progress is saved automatically and you can return at any time to complete it. No certificate is issued until you finish all 5 lessons and pass all lesson quizzes. If you are taking the course for ticket dismissal, you must complete it before your court deadline.
Your Progress Is Saved
Leaving the course without finishing does not delete your progress. Log back in at drivinglogic.com at any time and continue from where you left off. There is no time limit on returning, other than any deadline set by your court.
If You Miss Your Court Deadline
If you are taking the course for ticket dismissal and do not complete it before your court's deadline — typically 90 days from when permission was granted — contact your court as soon as possible. Courts handle this differently:
Some courts may grant an extension if you contact them before the deadline passes
Others will require you to appear in court or pay the fine
If the deadline passes without action, your ticket may result in a conviction on your record
Do not wait until after the deadline to reach out to your court.
If You Are Taking the Course Voluntarily
If you enrolled for an insurance discount and have not finished, there is no penalty. Simply return and complete the course whenever it is convenient. No court deadline applies.
Your Enrollment Does Not Expire
Your course enrollment does not expire. You can return and complete the course at any time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I be charged again if I do not finish and come back later? No. Your enrollment remains active and no additional fee is charged for returning to complete the course.
What if I cannot finish the course before my court deadline? Contact your court before the deadline and explain your situation. Some courts will grant an extension. Do not wait until after the deadline — your options narrow significantly once it passes.
I enrolled weeks ago and forgot about the course — can I still finish it? Yes. Log back in at drivinglogic.com and your progress will be right where you left it. Check your court deadline if you are taking the course for ticket dismissal.
Does not finishing the course affect my ability to use it for dismissal in the future? No. An incomplete course does not start the 12-month clock. The 12-month restriction applies only from your completion date.
What if my court says my deadline has already passed? Contact your court directly to discuss your options. Driving Logic cannot intervene with court deadlines, but we can confirm your completion status and resend your certificate if needed once you finish the course.
