If the teen does not pass a module quiz, they can retake it immediately — no waiting period, no penalty, and no limit on attempts. The next module remains locked until the quiz is passed.

The teen's score is shown immediately after submitting. Before retaking, review the module content that covers the topics where questions were missed. The quiz draws from the module's content, so reviewing the relevant lessons is the most effective preparation.

After reviewing, the teen can retake the quiz from the course dashboard. Questions may vary slightly between attempts — the quiz draws from a pool of questions for that module.

Once the teen passes with 3 of 4 or better, the next module unlocks immediately. Progress is saved and the teen can move forward.

Does failing a quiz reset the module content? No. The module content remains complete. Only the quiz needs to be retaken.

What if the teen keeps failing the same quiz? Go back through the module and re-read the sections covering the topics where questions are being missed. If the issue persists, contact Driving Logic support.

Does a failed quiz affect the DE-964 certificate? No. The number of quiz attempts is not reflected on the certificate.

Is there a difference between failing a module quiz and failing the DPS permit exam? Yes. Module quiz failures have no cooldown — retake immediately. The DPS permit exam has a 24-hour cooldown after a failed attempt. See the DPS permit exam failure article for details.
