How Do I Complete the ITTD Course
Complete the ITTD program at the official Texas DPS website after finishing all 44 hours of behind-the-wheel training. The whole process takes about 2 hours. Have a way to print the certificate before you start — you will need it at the road test.
What You Need Before Starting
Completion of all 44 BTW hours
Driver education type: Parent-Taught
TDLR school/program number from your PTDE materials or Driving Logic course
Email address for certificate delivery
Step-by-Step
Go to impacttexasdrivers.dps.texas.gov
Select ITTD — Impact Texas Teen Drivers (not ITAD, which is for adults)
Register with the teen's name, email address, driver education type (Parent-Taught), and PTDE program number
Watch all 8 video parts — approximately 2 hours total. Parts can be watched in separate sessions — they do not need to be completed all at once.
Complete the program — after watching all 8 parts, the ITTD completion certificate is emailed to the registered address
Print the certificate — a physical printed copy is required at the road test. Valid for 90 days from completion date.
Scheduling the Road Test
Once ITTD is complete and the teen has held their Learner's Permit for at least 6 months and is at least 16 years old, schedule the road test at a DPS driver license office or approved third-party provider at txdpsscheduler.com. The road test must be taken within 90 days of ITTD completion.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I find my PTDE program number? It is in the PTDE Program Guide from TDLR or on Driving Logic's course materials. Contact Driving Logic support if you cannot locate it.
Can the 8 video parts be watched on different days? Yes. Log back in to the ITTD website and your progress is saved. All 8 parts must be completed before the certificate is issued.
What if the ITTD certificate email does not arrive? Check the spam folder of the email used to register. If not there, log in to the ITTD account to download it directly. For issues with the ITTD program itself, contact the DPS: [email protected] or 512-424-5623.
What if the ITTD certificate expires before the road test? Complete ITTD again — it is free and takes about 2 hours. Use the same account and PTDE program number.
Is ITTD different from ITAD? Yes. ITTD is for teen drivers (ages 15–17) who completed a teen driver education course. ITAD is for adult drivers (ages 18+). Make sure the teen selects ITTD, not ITAD.
