What Happens After I Finish the Florida Basic Driver Improvement Course?

After completing Florida BDI, check course completion and the certificate email. Provider submission, agency receipt and posting are separate stages.

What Happens After I Finish the Florida Basic Driver Improvement Course?

After finishing the Florida Basic Driver Improvement (BDI) course, keep these separate steps in mind:

  1. Check your course completion status and certificate email.

  2. Provider submission and the agency’s record update are separate from receiving a certificate.

Your Certificate

Your certificate is sent to the email address you used when you enrolled as a PDF attachment. Check your inbox for an email from Driving Logic. If you do not see it, check your spam or junk folder.

Save the PDF. Use the certificate email; contact support if you need another copy.

FLHSMV Reporting

Course completion, provider submission and an update to your driving record are separate stages. A certificate email does not prove that FLHSMV or a court has received or processed your individual report. If your record is missing a completion, contact support through the chat on your course site with the course name, completion date and what the record shows. Mention any approaching deadline.

Follow your court or county clerk’s instructions for any proof you must provide and its deadline. Provider reporting obligations and your own court instructions are separate; do not assume that receiving a certificate completes every required submission.

If a Court Required the Course

Follow your court or county clerk’s instructions for any proof you must provide and its deadline. Provider reporting obligations and your own court instructions are separate; do not assume that receiving a certificate completes every required submission.

If You Want to Use Your Certificate for an Insurance Discount

Submit your certificate PDF directly to your insurance provider. Driving Logic does not submit certificates to insurers. Contact your insurer to confirm what documentation they need and how to submit it.

If You Took the Course Voluntarily

Keep your certificate for your records. Voluntary enrollment does not prevent points — the point prevention benefit only applies when you formally elect the course in connection with a qualifying citation.
