When Will Points Be Removed After Completing the New Jersey Defensive Driving Course (DDC)

Points are not removed immediately after you complete the course. Point reduction is applied by the New Jersey MVC after Driving Logic submits your completion record and the MVC processes it. This typically takes several weeks after your completion date.

How the Process Works

After you pass the final exam, Driving Logic submits your completion record to the New Jersey MVC within 10 business days. The MVC then reviews the submission and applies the point reduction to your driving record. MVC processing timelines vary and can take several weeks beyond the submission date.

You do not need to contact the MVC or submit anything yourself. Driving Logic handles the submission automatically.

Your Certificate Is Available Before Points Are Updated

Your completion certificate is emailed to you right away — you do not have to wait for MVC processing. If you need to provide proof of completion to a court or insurance company, you can do so with the emailed certificate without waiting for your driving record to be updated.
