No. The Texas Teen Driver Education Course can be completed across as many sessions as needed. Progress saves automatically and there is no deadline to finish. The teen can log out at any point and pick up exactly where they left off.

Progress is saved automatically as each section and module is completed. If the teen closes their browser or loses their connection, all completed work is preserved. They will not need to repeat content they have already finished.

Texas limits classroom instruction to 6 hours per day, so even if a teen wanted to finish everything in one sitting, the course would stop advancing after 6 hours. Most families complete the course across several weeks, doing a module or two per session.

Since Module 1 is 6 hours — the daily maximum — it can be completed in a single session. After passing the DPS permit exam at the end of Module 1, the teen can apply for their Learner's Permit while the rest of the course waits.

Can the teen start on a phone and finish on a computer? Yes. Progress is tied to the account, not the device. Log in from any device and the course resumes from the last saved point.
