How Do I Get Approval for the Missouri Driver Improvement Program (DIP)?

Approval for the Missouri Driver Improvement Program comes from one of two sources depending on your situation: a court or the Fine Collection Center (FCC). The path you take depends on who issued your citation and which county you are in.

Path 1 — Court Approval

This applies to most municipal and county police citations, and to state highway patrol citations in counties not on the FCC list.

Step 1 — Appear in court for your traffic violation

Attend your scheduled court date for the violation.

Step 2 — Request DIP approval from the judge

Ask the judge to approve your participation in the Driver Improvement Program as an alternative to points being assessed. Not all violations qualify — the court decides on a case-by-case basis.

Step 3 — Enroll in the course

Once approved, enroll at drivinglogic.com/missouri/driver-improvement-program-course and complete the course within 60 days of your conviction date.

Step 4 — Complete the course and submit Form 4444

After completing the course, Driving Logic emails you Form 4444. Take it to your court for a clerk signature, then mail the signed form to the Missouri DOR.

Path 2 — FCC Approval (Qualifying Counties)

This applies to Missouri State Highway Patrol citations in FCC-approved counties.

Step 1 — Plead guilty and pay your fine to the FCC

Submit your payment to the Fine Collection Center (mofcc.com or 877-866-3926). After payment, you are automatically approved for DIP — no court appearance required.

Step 2 — Enroll in the course

Enroll at drivinglogic.com/missouri/driver-improvement-program-course and complete the course within 60 days.

Step 3 — Submit Form 4444

After completing the course, Driving Logic emails you Form 4444. Follow the submission instructions for your county to get it to the Missouri DOR.

Which Path Applies to You?

If you are not sure, check with the court or FCC for the county where your ticket was issued. The name of the county is at the top of your citation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get approval by phone or email? Court procedures vary. Contact your court directly. FCC approval is processed when you pay your fine to the FCC online, by phone, or by mail.

What if the judge does not approve my DIP participation? Not all violations qualify. If the court denies DIP, you cannot enroll. Ask your attorney about other options.

What if I missed my court date? Contact your court immediately. Missing a court date may have consequences for your case. Do not enroll in the course until you have addressed the missed court date and received approval.
