Yes. There is one quiz at the end of each of the 12 modules, plus the official 30-question Texas DPS written knowledge exam at the end of Module 1.

Module Quizzes

Each of the 12 modules ends with a 4-question multiple-choice quiz. The quiz must be passed before the next module unlocks. A passing score is 70% — which means at least 3 of the 4 questions must be answered correctly.

If a quiz is failed, it can be retaken immediately with no waiting period, no penalty, and no additional cost. The number of attempts is not recorded on the DE-964 certificate.

The DPS Written Knowledge Exam

At the end of Module 1 only, the teen takes the official 30-question Texas DPS Highway Sign and Traffic Law Examination. This is the same exam all Texas license applicants take — Driving Logic administers it but does not write the questions. Passing requires a score of 70% or higher (at least 21 of 30 correct).

Unlike the module quizzes, the DPS exam has a 24-hour waiting period between failed attempts. There is no limit on the number of retakes and no additional cost to retake it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a final exam at the end of the full course? No. There is no separate final exam at the end of the 24-hour course. The Module 12 quiz is the last assessment in the classroom portion. The DPS written exam in Module 1 is the only 30-question exam in the course.

Do quiz scores appear on the DE-964 certificate? No. The number of quiz attempts and quiz scores are not reflected on either DE-964 certificate.

What happens to my progress if I close the course mid-quiz? Progress within an active quiz may not be saved if the browser is closed before submitting. The quiz will need to be restarted, but all previously completed module content is preserved.

Can I go back and retake a quiz from a completed module? Revisiting a completed module does not reset progress. If a quiz was previously passed, the module remains marked complete.
